MIKULOV, the former KuK district capital Nikolsburg, with around 7,500 inhabitants is picturesquely located on the vine-covered southern slopes of the Weinviertel cliff, visible from afar. The city, right on the northern border of Lower Austria - on the extended A5 - is now THE South Moravian tourist magnet.
The top summer holiday destination in the Czech Republic has a lot to offer: North of the city, the “Riviera” of the Mušov reservoir and the top wellness center “Aqualand Moravia”, a “wine paradise” with top Czech cuisine, the cultural sites in the inviting vineyards of the region Mikulovs including the Lichtenstein Castle, as well as dozens of bike and hiking trails in the beautiful landscape of South Moravia. Brno / Brno can be reached by car in 30 minutes - and the “Way of St. James” leads from Mikulov directly to Falkenstein.
The immediate proximity to the border, as well as the proximity to Poysdorf, is very advantageous for the festival structure. Mikulov, 5 km from the border town of Drasenhofen, is particularly easy to reach via the A5, “Nordautobahn”, and can be reached quickly and easily in around 45 minutes from the Vienna metropolitan area (attention: don't forget your passport or identity card).
