Falkenstein is the important place of the "mountain court" - from the early 17th century the highest legal viticulture authority in the entire Moravian region was located in the market town.

The market town is located near the A5 “Nordautobahn”, around 5 kilometers from the Poysdorf-Nord exit, and can be easily reached by car from Vienna in just over 35 minutes.
